2009 Honda Element Introduction

Honda's "adventure in a box" and very uniquely shaped Element made entry into the automotive scene in 2003, and since then it continued to evolve! Honda Element was a novelty among compact crossover sport utility vehicles. Over the years, the smart SUV has grown more refined, with a rugged interior and a monochrome exterior, very often appealing to consumers with an active lifestyle! The evolution continues for 2009, with notable exterior updates, interior freshening, along with an array of available high-tech and functional features.
The 2009 Element is available in three trim levels- the base LX, high-line EX, and sporty SC. Prices for the new Element start at $20,175 and reache up to $23,970, with a destination charge of $670. Its exterior styling changes include a new front grille and bumper design; restyled front fenders (replacing composite material); a new hood design, squared wheel arches, and new headlight and taillight configurations. The 2009 Element SC features a unique visual appearance, with exclusive front and rear fascias; monochromatic paint schemes; and a performance-oriented stance.
Element's interior is one of the most innovative and versatile among crossovers. However, the 2009 Element's four-passenger cabin differs from its predecessors. Significantly, an updated center stack and new fabrics highlight the changes. New Element features brighter color schemes with titanium-look side linings, new fabric patterns, revised switchgear designs and meter graphics. A restyled low-profile center console is standard on LX, whereas EX adds a new convertible center console with a removable cooler/storage box and SC retains its exclusive center console. Interior options prove to be one of the Element's strong points. A 270-watt, seven speaker sound system with 6.5-inch subwoofer, and Honda's Satellite-Linked Navigation system are among the few options come with the 2009 Element.
New Element comes available with only one engine- Honda's 166-horsepower 2.4-liter i-VTEC I-4 engine, which is pared up with either a five-speed automatic transmission or five-speed manual transmission. LX and EX trim levels are available in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations, while SC trim level is offered in two-wheel drive only.
