2009 Honda Ridgeline Car Review

The 2009 Honda Ridgeline is an innovative sport utility truck, which features a unique design inside and out, including an exclusive In-Bed Trunk, a locking compartment under the rear cargo bed floor. The four-door, five-passenger truck is available in three trim levels- RT, RTS and RTL.

New Ridgeline's exterior styling matches to that of the new Pilot. The latest front and rear styling updates attribute a lot to Ridgeline's new and more-chiseled overall appearance with a number of revisions. Some of its exterior revisions include a new grille, new bumpers, headlights and tailgate color combinations.

Interior styling updates of Ridgeline include three-dimensional-style meters; a new steering wheel design, with enhanced controls, buttons and displays for the air conditioning, audio, cruise control and headlights. The 2009 Ridgeline also receives a new trip computer, and audio systems (on RTS and RTL) come equipped with an MP3/iPod input jack. The optional navigation system for RTL trim level now comes with Bluetooth wireless cell-phone connectivity and a rearview camera. Power windows and door locks; cruise control, a column-mounted shifter, and air-conditioning are some of the standard interior features on all Ridgeline trims. RTS and RTL trims add dual-zone climate control and power lumbar support for the driver's power-adjustable seat.

All Ridgelines are powered by a SOHC 3.5-liter V6 engine, mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. Honda's Variable Torque Management four-wheel drive system (VTM-4) and a limited-slip lockable rear differential are also standard throughout the new Ridgeline line-up. The all-aluminum engine produces 250 horsepower at 5700 rpm and 247 pound-feet of torque at 4300 rpm. All that horsepower and torque yield a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. The new Ridgeline comes equipped with a heavy-duty radiator and a heavy-duty transmission cooler.
