3.7 L Acura engines and Nikasil plating. Nikasil can handle high temperatures, nevertheless is a more abrasive material. My opinion is that the piston rings used in the 3.7 L Engine are not the best match for the Nikasil lining and because of this compatibility issue, oil consumption occurs. In this case, the piston rings wear faster than normal. (Sanding effect on the piston rings).
